I. Rationale:
The (Name of Agency) is continuously upgrading its ways in dealing
with the clientele to improve the company’s strength and personnel
capabilities as well as keeping a positive image to the community. With the
support of fresh ideas and a collaborative effort, the (Name of Office Primary
Responsible) is making the most of its resources in helping reach the
company’s ideals through conducting series of webinar to enhance
personnel’s skills and competencies.
This webinar/workshop aims at teaching participants what it takes to
improve their techniques to elevate the quality of documentation especially
on important events that take place in jails. It is designed to provide
personnel with everything they need to take their photography skills to the
next level, regardless of what level of experience they have or what type of
camera they use. Having this skill is a great advantage both in their
profession and personal life.
II. Learning Objectives
At the end of the one-day webinar/workshop, participants from the
(name of agency) are expected to improve their skills in photography and
understand its importance in communicating effectively with the readers
when combined in newswriting.
Specifically, at the end of the course, the participants are expected to:
1. Understand the value of photography in documenting and publicizing
company’s activities;
2. Get a better understanding of how the camera actually works to be
able to take better images with manual settings and how to capture
better photos using smart phones;
3. Learn the proper use of flash and natural lighting when photographing
subjects;
4. Develop particular ideas and techniques for improving personnel’s
photography skills; and
5. Learn how to build compelling newsletter covers that establish and
maintain audience interactions while preserving a consistent brand
identity.
, III. Training Overview
A. Introduction to Photography
This topic will impart knowledge to the participants on what is
photography all about and how to deal with the basic steps in photography.
Participants will learn the different types of photography and the various
types and parts of a camera. They will also learn the art of taking a good
picture.
B. Elements of Photography
This topic will discuss about the elements of photography. This section
will highlight the points of interest that a photographer should learn in order
to know how to identify a primary point of interest before taking the
photograph, how to keep it simple, and how to ensure that only the things
they want the audience to see appear in the picture. Participants will be able
to recognize the proper contrast, balance, framing in photography.
C. Photography as an effective tool of communication / Workshop
Participants will learn how to use their photography skills as a medium of
persuasion to viewers in the communication process. Participants will be
taught strategies and techniques for creating images that educate the
viewers' minds.
Participants may undergo exercises in order to apply what they have
learned during the discussion such as having photograph of the things they
want to change in the community
IV. Course description
This seminar/workshop will educate participants on how to take
properly document various activities and services provided by the company
to their clients and community. They will also learn how to produce eye-
catchy and high-quality images in connection with news writing especially in
the official publication of the company’s newsletter. Moreover, improving
one's photographic abilities may help in making the company’s products
even more competitive and enticing to prospective customers.
In order for each participant to receive a Certificate of Completion,
he/she should successfully complete the required 8-hour training program
and accomplish the Speaker/Training Evaluation Forms.
