This issue is important to me because an estimated 32,000 people die in US hospitals each year as a result of preventable medical errors and about 57,000 people in the US die because they are not receiving appropriate health care because common medical conditions such as high blood pressure or elevated cholesterol are not adequately controlled (National Committee for Quality Assurance. When it comes to high quality, it includes several different components, such as experienced health care providers, the division of clinical and financial decisions and the quality of health care organizations.
