PHY 114
, ABSTRACT:
The goal of this lab was to use a DC circuity with varying internal resistances to figure out find
the optimal load resistance that would have the best power output. A circuit was set to test this,
and 2 separate tests were made. One tested where the internal resistance is gradually increased to
match the load resistance, the other has a set intermediate resistance. The efficiency of the set ups
are 91.587% and 50.907% respectively. It becomes clear that a circuit is significantly more
effective when the internal resistance matches the load resistance.
OBJECTIVE:
The objective of this lab was to understand look at electric power dissipated in a load resistor to
find the optimal load resistance that would have the best power output in a DC circuit.
