THE PARTIES
1 At all material times:
a. The Claimant (“Lady Margaret Lascelles”) was the sole beneficiary of a trust
created by her aunt on 11th April 2002 and for a total capital sum of
£2,000,000.
b. The First Defendant (“Captain Thomas Mountbatten”) was the sole
appointed trustee and was an implicitly trusted family friend for over 50
years.
c. The Second Defendant (“Mr Winston Townsend”) was the financial advisor
to the trust and operated on a contract for service basis when the trust
requires financial advice. He also advised the wider families regarding their
financial affairs and wealth management.
