My project is to plan and coordinate my cousin's wedding, who is getting married on
January 25th, 2020. I have to order everything and I have to stay within a budget of $15,000.
That is the amount her parents have given me to work with for this event. This project will be
challenging because I have to book the venue, music, food, cake, and flowers. I will have to hire
an assistant to help me, with this budget, I will retain my daughter to help me, she has helped me
before on another project, and she knows the vendors I have used. So, I will work on getting the
right venue by July and the music, cake, and flowers by August and September. I know the theme
is a winter wonderland with a hint of elegance. Since they are letting me be creatively free with
this event, that takes some pressure off. My main goal is to stay on budget, I have some ideas,
but I have four meetings with the bride and groom, throughout this project. The first meeting will
be in July to approve the venue, then September, November, and lastly December.
My Goal is the deliver the project on time with everything completed. Make sure the project
is done by January 2020. I also want to make sure all the vendors are hired and paid by
November. I want to make sure stay in budget, and my other goal is to make sure I can get some
more stockholders to come aboard financially. So, the first thing I did was ask my assistant to
hire one more person to help with decoration and other small projects. As the project manager, I
did not want to hire them I would leave that up to my head assistant since they will be working
together. I trust my assistant to hire the right person. Now that the co-assistant has been hired we
are ready to start the ball rolling.
