Bureau website. This table compares several population characteristics of Sullivan County,
Indiana to the United States. Sullivan County is a small rural community in the Midwest,
and as you can see from this sociodemographic profile below, represents a small part of the
county as a whole with a population of only 20,669.
The majority of the population are white and between the ages of 19-64, with most
speaking only English. Male to female ratio are fairly even in this county. Almost 90% of
the county has graduated high school. The percentage of our population with a disability
under the age of 65 is slightly higher than that of the national average as well as those
living in poverty. However, our population per square mile is almost half that of the United
States.
