Professor Fillmore and classmates, Communication between all members of the nursing team is very important and can be very difficult at times. There are many times when a manager is unable to meet with all the staff at the same time due to scheduling conflicts and meetings are a way that the nurse manager conveys important information to the staff. There are many different approaches that can be initiated to ensure that all employees are able to attend or receive the information from the meeting. There can be multiple times that a meeting can be conducted, zoom or Microsoft teams can be offered for them to dial into. To effectively communicate with employee’s honesty needs to be a priority and in order for the staff to feel that they can come to their manager they need to feel that there is a trust between them. There are many different ways that nursing executives can enhance their communication with their nursing staff: always have an open door policy so that they can feel they can approach you with concerns and suggestions, town hall meetings are a way to offer an opportunity to bring ideas to the manager, daily shift team huddles, team building activities, recognition when a job is well done[ CITATION Bre20 l 1033 ]. Encouraging your nurses to be engaged in organizational ideas helps to make them feel they are part of the daily decisions that occur on their unit. It is important that the nursing staff is included in some of the day-to-day hustle since they are the ones having to deal with the chaos of the unit. Making sure that they see you coming onto their unit can ensure they know that as the nurse executive you are there for them also include the night shift because they can tend to feel left out of these important opportunities due to their shifts that they work. When the nurse leader is not available it comes across that the nursing staff is not very important.
