Phonetics deals with the system of sound in language. Here, we utilize phonemes instead of letter
names. It is the way of “how we say it.” It is the discipline or study that deals with the production,
transmission, reception and articulation of speech sounds. Understanding phonetics comes with understanding
the speech apparatus too. Speech apparatus is the system that we utilize to produce sound and understand how
they are created. The production of sound may come from different manners of articulation using different parts
of the speech apparatus. It is concerned with how the letters from a word should be spoken and studies how they
are produced.

The manner and point of articulation are completely different. The manner deals with the way how we
produce such sounds with respect to its effect on the airstream flow. The point of articulation refers to the part
of the speech apparatus and how they move to produce sound. It is where the sound comes from or which part
