Beena Shaji: What are your favorite memories of nursing school from your Student
days?
Yashashri Gaikar: All the memories from the nursing student life is good. But still among
that the favorite is the working in labor room with my classmates. It was 6 months
posting in the labor room and altogether we were 15 students posted together. So it was
arranged I this way 5 students in the Antenatal care unit,5 students in the postnatal care
unit and 5 students in the labor room. So, it was my colleague who would bring the
patient for labor for antenatal and similarly my classmates to receive mother and baby
post-delivery. Because you see were young nurses of all 19-20yearsold and it was our
first experience in the maternity unit. Together we 15 classmates worked and it was an
excellent experience of bringing a life to this world.
