Superficial muscles:
1. Trapezius m. –
• origin – cervical and thoracic vertebrae
• insertion-acromion end of clavicle and scapula
• Action - adducts and elevates scapula (pectoral girdle) also moves clavicle
2. Latissimus dorsi m. -
• origin- Spines of T7–L5
• insertion-Intertubercular sulcus of humerus
• Action - Extends, adducts, and medially rotates arm at shoulder joint
