STAT 200 Assignment #3: Inferential Statistics Analysis
and Writeup
Identifying Information
Student (Full Name):
Class: Stat 200
Instructor: Bobby Jordan
Date: July 22, 2018
Part A: Inferential Statistics Data Analysis Plan and Computation
Introduction: For this assignment I am going to show the inferential statistic data analysis and
the computation of the results. The main objective of this assignment is to develop and compute
an inferential statistics analysis and upon obtaining those result develop a write up.
Variables Selected: In the previous assignment I used five different variables; income, status,
family size, electricity, and housing expenditure. With these variables in mind, I will be using
income as the socioeconomic variable, while using housing and electricity as the expenditure
variables.
Table 1: Variables Selected for Analysis
Variable Name in Variable Type Description Qualitative or
the Data Set Quantitative
Variable 1: Income Socioeconomi Annual Household Income Quantitative
, c
Variable 2: Housing Expenditure Total amount of annual Quantitative
expenditure on housing in USD
Variable 3: Expenditure Total amount of annual Quantitative
Electricity expenditure on electricity in USD
Data Analysis:
1. Confidence Interval Analysis: For the housing expenditure variable, I have estimated
and run the confidence interval method for estimating the parameter based on statistics.
Table 2: Confidence Interval Information and Results
Name of Variable: Housing
State the Random Variable and Parameter in Words:
The random variables are the variables with values that have quantitative outcomes of the
incident. The basic parameters of the random variable are mean, median, standard deviation and
so on. I have analyzed the mean, median, standard deviation of the variable
Confidence interval method including confidence level and rationale for using it:
The confidence interval is the range of the values that are derived from the sample statistics
provided, and it contains the total values of the unknown parameters. In the confidence interval
method, I have evaluated the following parameters; confidence level, error of margin, upper and
lower bound, minimum value, maximum value, and range. The interval of the variable is 8095.
