Chili’s being a national restaurant chain uses many different business information
systems to focus and deliver data to management for decision making. While no single system
can provide all the information an organization needs we will review what our company uses
and some that they may benefit from.
Intranet
An intranet it’s a private network that is used inside the business. It can consist in
many different interlinked around the local area network. An Intranet contains one or more
entryway computer to the outside Internet. Chili’s uses the intranet to communicate company
information and computing capital among employees. The Intranet is something similar to the
internet butt the difference with the internet is that is worldwide electronic communication that
is able to connect computer to a network to facilitate it’s used.
Transaction Processing System (TPS)
Transaction Processing System (TPS) is a computerized system that is mainly used by
organizations to preform and record the company transactions that are necessary to run a
company or organization. This system can keep track of activities and transactions such as sales,
receipts, cash deposits, payroll and the flow of products in the organization. The system records
and performs the daily transactions such as reservations, employee data, record keeping and
shipping. TPS can also answer questions and track the flow of transactions within Chili’s. TPS
can tell us what is in the inventory system, track payments, and this can be easily available,
current and accurate. A TPS for a payroll processes can tell you the employee payment
transaction data such as timecard and the system output included online, and includes hard copy
