Rapid Strep test (RST) is used to diagnose pharyngitis infection caused by “Group A Streptococci”
(GAS). The kits contains strips with antibiotics specifically against the proteins found on GAS. A
positive result will show two bands on the strip, and a negative result will show only one band.
