Whether or not it is written or verbally articulated, everyone has an idea or belief system
about leadership that influences their behavior as a leader and a follower. Many factors
combine that inform your leadership philosophy.

 Discuss your personal beliefs, values, experiences, and current leadership
principles and trends that influence your leadership philosophy.
 In 3-5 sentences clearly articulate your personal leadership philosophy. This
should begin with, "My philosophy of leadership is....."
 Describe how your leadership philosophy relates to the position and the
organization within which you currently work. How does it affect the work you do, how
you make decisions, and the culture you promote?

Week1: Individual post
Hello Dr. Mitchell and yellow group,
I currently work in a leadership role. My role has expanded to include coverage of two acute
care hospitals case management departments. Leadership is challenging. I believe self-refection
and subsequent development of personal skills, allow others to see your authentic side enhancing
a trust building relationships with followers. I appreciate other that have walked before me and
past on their tips and knowledge. Be authentic fosters a healthy work environment (Raso, 2019).
I lead by example and I set the expectations for my staff.
My philosophy of leadership is to empower and inspire other to achieve their greatest potential.
My goal is to motivate others to reach forward and work toward the vision. I believe that clear
communication and being authentic are basic keys to empower others to achieve their personal
best.
One of my personal challenges is maintaining self-awareness and self-care. I truly put others
needs before mine. I am very dedicated and committed to doing a great job. However, I tend to
take on more and have trouble balancing work, family, and self. Authentic leadership encompass
self-awareness and behavior that promote and align people and resources to achieve a common
goal (Shirey, White-Williams, & Hites, 2019).
My organization’s mission is providing quality care to the people we serve. We seek to provide
safe, high quality, cost effective, patient-centered care. In order to achieve this mission, it takes
multi-level collaboration and communication. I work well with m am and foster internal
professional relationships with the other leaders within the facilities. I also develop more
