1. How did you alleviate the couple’s anxiety as you
started your session? How did you explain the purpose
of the coaching session? How did you explain
confidentiality? What are some facts about pre-
marriage education and the SYMBIS assessment?
What talking points did you share with the couple?
The couple John and Renee didn’t have anxiety, I’ve
known the couple for quite some time so I
explained my role in this process and explained the
SYMBIS assessment and informed them that there
were no wrong answers. I told them the goal was to
discover strengths and weaknesses to better their
relationship and potentially make it stringer.
Confidentiality was explained to the couple and I let
them know the results were private. Trust was not
an issue. The SYMBIS assessment and premarital
education help prepare couples for a strong
marriage and healthy relationship, which benefits
both parties.
