the social causes and consequences of human behavior” (The American Sociological Department, n.d).
Karl Marx is one of the few people who really fought and contributed greatly to sociology. His ideas and
theories are still being implemented in this generation. If we are able to keep away from the dogmatism
and stress that have been regularly related to the tradition. Power, exploitation, class, systems of
manufacturing and distribution, belonging relations, place of work hierarchy, those capabilities without
a doubt stay a crucial part of our social world (Little, D. 2013).
Unfortunately, here in Africa, Karl Marx theories haven't helped us much. Our leaders tried to copy the
European ideas of socialism and yet they are practicing a very different social system. Over here in
Mozambique, we even have a street named after Karl Marx and thrown away his ideas when it comes to
socialism. The difference between the rich and poor is so huge because the country is still practicing
communism in disguise.
Mozambique is a jumble of statistical contradictions. It has one of the maximum actual GDP increase
quotes in the world, at 7.5%. Yet it ranks 185th out of 187 nations at the 2013 UN Human Development
Index with the aid of the UN Development Programme. It is one of the poorest nations in the world,
with greater than 55% of its 23.9 million human beings formally dwelling beneath the poverty line (The
Guardian, 2013). There are fewer companies to employ citizens to work in other to generate wealth for
them and the country.
Just like Karl Marx rightly pointed out that workers' labor is one of the main reasons why wealth is being
acquired. So, in conclusion, I suggest that we must aim at creating more jobs to help with equal
distribution of wealth.
