First of all, according to Little, W.(n.d.), Karl Marx is known to be a ruthless critique of everything
existing. He was one of the founders of sociology, his ideas about social conflict are still relevant today.
Karl Max majored in critical sociology where the key elements of the analysis were the empahsis of
power relations and the understanding of society as historical- subject to
change, struggle, contradiction, instability, social movement and radical transformation. (Little,W(n.d.).
This means that the society that I live in could change anytime. A peaceful and cooperative society can
easily become peaceless and a full of disunity. Something that is unacceptable today may become
acceptable tomorrow. Therefore I should not be in a comfort zone thinking that I have achieved all.
Anytime anything could happen and it could change .

Marx's contribution towards sociology cannot be overlooked for example emphasis on power relations,
activism, justice movements. Today there is alot of activism going on around us, people demonstrating
because they are seeking for justice as well as trying to gain power over .

Marx's perceptions that I have been exposed to. His perception about an emancipatory interest
(Habermas,1972) which talks about not simply seeking to understand or describe the world but to use
sociogical knowledge to change and improve the world, to emancipate people from conditions of
servitude. In my country, the government is doing its level best to promote women's emancipation to
enable women's voices to be heard and for women to take up the same roles as men, the girl child can
now go to school, genital mutilation in some cultures is being fought against, there is some sense of
liberation (Little, W, (n.d.).

It's still a journey, but hopefully one day we will get there. I agree with most of Karl Marx's perception
for example; his perception of the society as historical- subject to change, struggle. (Little, W,(n.d.). For a
long time, no pandemic had affected the wholeworld at once, until in 2019 when covid-19 came and
swept the world like a hurricane. Many people died, people lost their jobs, schools in my country were
closed for two years. They have just been opened all these indicate that the society is subject to change.
I donot agree with the fact that he used to critisize everything existing. I personally have worked with
people who like to critisize everything and sometimes it brings in negative energy and people will not
feel appreciated and they would lose interest if every view that they have is critisized.
