BUS 119: Principles of Personal & Organizational Leadership
Memo

Subject: Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council Workplan
I would recommend that the Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Council propose the initial work plan to
look for more ways to bring the employees the sense of value and positive reception that the promotion of
inclusion can foster. It’s important to acknowledge that our executive management team “needs be in
tuned into the factors that can get in the way of knowing what’s important to employees both individually
and collectively” (Brown, 2018, To Retain Employees, Focus on Inclusion-Not Just Diversity, para. 10).
There are a few key points I will make to help shape the strategy.
Our organization is defined by the diverse people that we employ and will continue to outreach for
recruitment. The diversity portion of this action plan is alive and well, but we must cement our efforts by
encouraging the inclusion of our employee spectrum’s many facets. Segmented results of the DE&I
