Wal-Mart is a multinational retail corporation. The company operates large discount
superstores and warehouses. Walmart was founded by Mr. Sam Walton and his brother Bud in
Bentonville, Arkansas (USA). People consider Walmart one of the world s most valuable
companies. Currently, It is the world's largest employer, including more than 1.5 million
workers. Walmart has more than five thousand stores worldwide; 80% of those are in the United
States. The top competitors for Walmart are Target and Home Depot. Walmart's benefits
strategy consists of keeping the lowest prices and helping customers save money. The use of the
brand strategy creates a positive impact for the stakeholders. The current market price per share
consists of 149.42 as of October 29th, 2021.
The key trends in revenues for Walmart have increased significantly over the last
three years. The sales growth from 2019 to 2021 has nearly doubled. Due to the pandemic of
2020, online sales nearly doubled as well. Cost of goods also increased in 2021, leaving the
total revenues to increase in profit for the company.
The standard size income over the last three years had increased intermittently.
Walmart's WMT, +0.6% revenue, was up 6.7% for 2020. The corporation reached $559 billion
and held the top rank as the largest U.S. retailer, Amazon. Amazon is at +0.5% and has
reported revenue of $386 billion for its fiscal year.
Many of Walmart's asset trends include long-term and short-term borrowings showing
benefit increase within one year. These borrowings also have tangible and intangible assets.
The total current assets for Walmart in 2021 are $90.067B, showing a 45.73% increase from
2020. Walmart's total current assets for 2020 were $61.806B, a 0.15% decline from 2019.
