MGT 601: The Functions of Modern Management
Introduction
Human resource planning activities and the organizations strategic development go
hand in hand. No matter the size of the company, each one will use both practices in order to
be successful. “Organizational leaders rely on HR managers to help them make work-related
decisions about employees. Many industries have become more competitive and face duty-free
trade agreements that allow foreign competitors to have lower labor costs”. (Bierman, Ferrell
& Ferrell, 2016). Planning activities revolve around HR figuring out what type of impact can
happen to the company when going through development. For this assignment we will
examine and describe the eight elements of the staffing process and the four activities related
to human resources.
Eight Elements of the Staffing Process
Starting off this process is critical for the entire life cycle an employee will go through.
From the very beginning of the planning and recruiting process, there will be discussions on the
type of employee that will be wanted for your organization. Following the eight elements
below, will provide the path forward on how human resources completes their staffing process.
