PSY 665 Topic 5 DQ 1 What would be, for you, an ideal environment in which to learn and grow as an employee? Provide as much detail as you can. I would prefer an environment that is open without cubicles, a space that physically fostered communication with fellow employees. A layout including natural light, bright colors, and multiple communal areas for group work. Along with the physical space being open, I would work best with others who enjoy open communication and group work. Organizations that support open door policies, communication, and group efforts are more effective at job satisfaction among employees (Tsai, 2011). Having trust in leadership is important to me as well, and I find that I feel most supported and trusting of those that can adapt their leadership style with situational leadership. Leaders that support their employees providing feedback for development and positive words of encouragement build trust in their employees (Asencio & Mujkic, 2016). Along those lines, I would do best working in an organization that continuously works to keep their employees motivated with a positive atmosphere and developmental assessments to learn new skills.
