This assignment will address the organizational culture and climate of Orange Park Medical
center. This paper will contain the vision and mission of the hospital and the role these two
values play in the culture and climate of the organization and the part they play in supporting
the growth of a healthy work environment. We will also explore the role an organizations
leadership plays in supporting the patients as well as the staff.
Analysis
Culture vs. Climate
Collective observations from staff and patients make up the climate, while how they feel about
organizational values make up the culture and provide established norms of behavior. The
summary will include how the vision, mission, and goals along with the strengths and
weaknesses identified over years of service have played a major part in the final analysis of the
paper. Consequently, highlighting how it all aligns to nurture a healthy and safe working
environment. The results from Basinska-Zych (2021) analysis showed that employees' behaviors
can be greatly influenced by proactive changes and transformational strategies made by
management. Employees get direction and guidance in how to impact their organization, how to
best affect production, increase team satisfaction, and general self-esteem and morale.
Analysis
The work environment at Orange Park Medical Center (OPMC) was assessed using their
physical and social environment, professional and personal support, power structure, safety,
communication, and any organizational taboos. OPMC got its start as a very small community
hospital in 1974 and is now one of the leading providers of healthcare in the NE region of
