What brings you into the clinic today

I'm having so much trouble just trying to breathe. And I've had these terrible
coughing fits. A few days ago, a bronchospasm. My health is going downhill fast
. . . I know it has to do with my smoking habit. It's so hard to kick. I was hoping I
could get something to help me.

How many years have you been a smoker

I started smoking when I was 15. I've smoked for a long time. Had a little
success quitting. I stopped for ten years when my daughter was born. But, I
picked up the habit again. I've tried quitting since my husband died, but . . . it's
hard.

How many packs a day do you smoke

Typically I smoke between three and five cigarettes a day. It's been that way for
the last four months. Ever since I relapsed. Smoking makes my breathing worse,
so . . . I try to hold off as long as I can between cigarettes.

I've been diagnosed with COPD. It's chronic bronchitis. Hard as heck to breathe.
I know my smoking habit makes it worse, too. I've thought about oxygen, but
since I smoke, I'd blow myself up. (Clarified to what health problems I have.)

I cough after a cigarette. I shouldn't be smoking with my lungs like this, but . . .
it's hard to resist. Moving around too much makes me feel worse, too. I feel like
I can't catch my breath sometimes. It makes me tired and weak. (Clarified to
what triggers my symptoms.)

Two years ago, I had this respiratory distress episode. Landed me in the
hospital. That's how I found out about the COPD.

make sure to never miss a dose.
