Values and morals are considered to be an individual’s personal beliefs about different things. A person’s beliefs can decipher whether or not they would consider something right or wrong. Although the two terms sound similar, they have slightly different meanings. Values are an individual’s personal beliefs that can motivate their actions, attitudes, and the way they behave (Mintz, 2018). Furthermore, they show what is and what isn’t important to a person. While morals are also an individual’s personal beliefs, they allow people to judge actions of others as either being morally right or morally wrong (Ayala, 2010). People who have the same values and morals will have a better chance at getting along and connecting, rather than those who have different ones. A person’s values and morals are made up by the events, experiences, and teachings they may have had throughout their life. As each person has different experiences, they may have different values and morals. However, those people who have experienced similar things, may have similar values and morals. Although an individual would consider themselves a Christian, it does not always mean they have the same values and morals as that specific religion does. As people experience new things their values and morals may change over time and it can definitely differ from their religion’s worldview. An individual might believe that their basic values are about trust, honesty, and kindness. Having any kind of relationship with someone, whether it be a friend, family member, or significant other, there should always be trust between the two. Having trust also means being honest. Two people can’t have a good and healthy relationship if someone is being dishonest and untrustworthy. Additionally, being kind to each other. Most people should value kindness in the world. While morals describe someone’s personal beliefs about what is right or wrong, most peoples would regard basic legal topics. For example, stealing, in most people’s opinion that is morally wrong. Everyone’s values and morals differ from the different experiences they have gone through in their life. Every individuals’ personal beliefs will influence and effect a person’s worldview and how they behave. For those people who morally believe that being kind to one another is right, that is the way most people will go about doing things. Moral and ethical behavior is consistently influencing people’s behaviors and it also effects their behavior in the workforce. When being in a business it is important that employees take on good traits and behaviors to be the best employee they can be. Especially for health care providers, not only should they be a good provider, but they should treat their patient with high quality care. Some traits that are beneficial to take on in a business setting are being conscientious, moral attentiveness, duty and customer orientated (Cremer, 2016). These are only a couple traits listed that are good to have in any kind of workforce. That being said, people who morally believe that being honest, kind, and equal to each other is the right thing to do tend to behave the same way as their personal beliefs. Cultural values and personal traditions are a community’s beliefs about how they go about doing things. While there are many different cultures, each one differs from each other. People who grow up around a certain culture will value that specific culture and have a worldview revolved around it. A community’s cultural values can change over time. This can result into different worldviews and behaviors. As time goes by, people’s cultural values can evolve to different traditions or beliefs or even change by needs or wants in a community. An example of this could be people who do and don’t eat meat. Although a specific culture can believe in eating meat, they can also evolve to becoming vegetarian by changing their beliefs in that community. A person growing up with cultural values will have a worldview that is shaped around their specific culture. Moral conflicts and ethical dilemmas in health care are very similar to each other, but they do have different meanings. Moral conflicts are people having trouble coming to an agreement when communicating and having mistrust. This happens because a person’s morals are their own beliefs when deciding what is right or wrong (Perez, 2018). While being in a business setting, a person’s ethics are rules that come from their workforce. An example of an ethical dilemma could be having conflict between a health care provider and a patient’s family member. If an unresponsive patient was an organ donor but their family members did not want their organs to be donated, the health care provider would have to abide by the facilities rules and law by doing what is right, and that is donating the patient’s organs. Even if the family did not want the patient’s organs to be donated, the health care provider has to do what is right and that
