Critical Appraisal of Medical Applications and Implementation into Clinical Practice
Name of the Medical Application
GoodRx will be the foundation of this critical appraisal paper. This application is a free,
privately owned, online and mobile company established on September 12, 2011 in Santa
Monica, California. Their mission is to help Americans locate affordable medications and
convenient, clear, and easy to understand medical information (GoodRx, 2020).
Author
Founders Doug Hirsch, Trevor Bezdek, and Scott Marlette work closely with their team
of developers and experts to create and maintain up to date information for consumers. Each
team member comes from a distinct background such as doctors, pharmacists, and economists.
The diversity within the group lends to the success of the application. According to GoodRx
(2020) in the early part of his career, Doug Hirsch was among the first few people to build
technology that began both Yahoo and Facebook after graduating from Tufts University. Stanford
graduate, Trevor Bezdek, has roots in many IT start up companies and actively engages in many
community organizations to give back to society (GoodRx, 2020). Finally, Good Rx (2020)
mentions the innovator, Scott Marlette, graduated from Stanford University and began
pioneering applications for Facebook that lead to being honored as a TechFellow in Engineering
Leadership.
Endorsements
