1.1) Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) and General Packet Radio Services
(GPRS) embedded in in micro-browser equipped mobile phones or embedded
handheld computers are two examples of ICT Tools that are currently being
used to link students that aren’t based in the same geographic location.
Emails are also an ICT tool which break geographic barriers.

Construction tools such as Microsoft Word and Powerpoint can be used to
overcome linguistic barrier, other tools can include Google translate which is
another literacy initiative.
1.2) Wireless Application Protocol is a communication protocol that allows for
wireless data access through most mobile wireless networks. It facilitates
instant connectivity between interactive wireless devices and the internet, thus
allowing persons from different geographic locations to have contact with one
another. GPRS is mobile data which allows for global cellular communication,
this can be used from different places on the globe. Emails is another ICT tool
that can be used to send communication or work to other email users
wherever they are in the world, this platform allows for people to communicate
with one another and send each other attachments in the form of videos,
photos, presentations, etc, and it can all be sent to each other wherever, as
long as a connection is present.
Microsoft Word and PowerPoint are software applications which are used by a
large number of consumers globally, it can be installed on mobile devices or
on desktops; it is especially effective with regards to language as it provides
assistance with selected correct sentence structure and word processors
have functions such as autocorrect and spell check, it also has dictionaries
and grammar checks, all of this helps a lot with regards to language barriers.
Google translate is an internet service which Google provides that instantly
translates words, phrases, and web pages between English and over 100
different languages, this assists students too with regards to with overcoming
language barriers.
2.a) The app Geogebra, Google Earth and interactive 3D Geography models,
Kahoot.
2.b) Geogebra is used for maths, specifically to teach Geometry, Algebra, Tables,
Graphing and Stats. Google Earth and interactive 3D Geography models are
excellent apps to assist with the teaching and learning of Geography, more
specifically in the fields of mapwork and GIS. Kahoot is an app which can be used in
most subjects, covering almost all topics.
