Levelling is used to show the multiple processes which occur in an information system. The analyst will start off with an overall view, after which they will comprise lower level diagrams until all the functional primitives of the information system is identified. The more complex the system is the more levels the analyst will have to draw. In figure 5-14 the FILL ORDER process of figure 5-13 has been exploded and is shown in more detail.
