Organizational Culture and Climate: Assessment and Analysis
This paper will look into the organizational culture and climate at my current
organization and how it directly impacts the care we provide to our patients. Organizational
culture can be difficult to define, many have their own definition of what organizational culture
is to them. Organizational culture can be defined as a pattern of values, beliefs, attitudes, and
norms that may not be expressed in words but are what shapes the behaviors of people within an
organization (Mesfin et al., 2020). Organizational climate is a useful indicator on how the
quality of the work environment is, it illustrates the perceptions workers have of the organization
(Pérez- Vallejo & Fernández-Muñoz, 2019). Additional components of this paper include an
organizational culture and climate assessment tool. The mission, vision and goals of the
organization and how the organizational culture aligns. Strengths of organizational culture and
areas that need improving. How the organizational climate reflects our organizational culture
and how we support healthy, safe, person-centered healthcare work environment. Strategies to
address the areas that need improvement followed by a conclusion of the assessment and
analysis.
Organizational Culture Description
To better understand the organizational culture in my organization I spent time assessing
my surroundings. By collecting data about my organization I can better analyze the culture and
climate within the organization. I was able to complete this assessment by using the
Organizational Culture and Climate Assessment Tool. There are seven categories that are
