A new Cinema in town
The ”hot topic” of this week is the new cinema in town that opened it’s
doors just 4 days ago and the people who got to experience it first hand
have a lot to say!
Word on campus says that even though there’s a great range of films to
see the staff is extremely rude, so I’ve decided to check it out myself and
give you my unbiased opinion (don’t worry I won’t spare any details).
Yesterday my friend Kyle and I got a handful of snacks and decided to
watch “The lion king” and let me tell you before we even stepped foot
inside the building we could smell the freshly made popcorn and we
could see the polished, shiny floors and counters which gave us a very
welcoming feeling but as we approached the ticket counter the
atmosphere immediately got heavier since the young lady there, was
quite unpleasant, rude and was really rushing us. The situation got even
more uncomfortable when we got to the doors before the screening
room where a middle-aged man was checking if the tickets were valid,
he gave us a weird look and asked for our age, we calmly replied 17 and
without even looking at the tickets he told us that we weren’t allowed
to get in because the movie was PG18 which was bizarre to say the least
because it was a kids movie. After a lot of convincing he finally realised
that he made a mistake and let us in, we enjoyed the film but we had
already lost 10 minutes by the time we went in.
Overall I would say that the selection of films was bigger than any other
cinema in town (there are 15 new movies you can choose from right
now) but the manager needs to take better control of the stuff or hire
people with more energy and passion for movies otherwise a great
cinema will be lost because of the unprofessionalism the stuff has. But
you can always try it for yourselves and let me know what you think.
