Abstract
Efficient selection tools can save a company from a lot of troubles and minimize cost as a benefit
of hiring the right employees. The emergence of Social Networking Sites (SNS) as a part of the
selection procedures due to a predisposition that SNS can be used to predict performance in the
workplace since they reflect one’s personality. According to numerous studies, job seeking SNS
users are aware of this trend in social media screening and thus they are engaging in the
impression management to their SNSs. Therefore, validity of SNS as a screening tool is
ambiguous that also leads to the possibility to interpret candidates’ fit from SNS being
questionable.
