Review: Chamberlain University College of Nursing Student Handbook
Materials & Preparation:
• Documents to bring:
o Level 4 Clinical Learning Evaluation (Print off copy)
• Uniforms & Clinical Kits:
o Chamberlain cobalt blue tunic top with pockets and a Chamberlain
logo embroidered on upper left chest area.
o Pants in Chamberlain cobalt blue.
o White socks (mid-calf or knee length) and white nurse’s shoes or white solid
material, non-mesh athletic shoes must be worn (closed flat heel and toe). Shoes
worn in clinical areas must cover the entire foot.
o Student identification badge
o Stethoscope with bell/diaphragm
o Watch with a second hand
o Laptop
o Headphones
o Penlight
o Bandage scissors
o Clinical kits/lab bag
o Black ball-point pen
• Professional Appearance:
o Professional appearance includes good grooming and appropriate use
of cosmetics and jewelry.
o Uniforms must be clean and well maintained.
o Hair is to be worn back and up and away from the face. Longer hair must be
tied back in a neat manner. Hair colors must be of natural tones. Non-natural
colors such as pink, blue, etc., are not acceptable.
o Religious head wrap/headdress may be worn free of decorative items in
either cobalt blue, white or black.
o Natural nails must not extend beyond fingertips. Artificial nails and nail
polish are not permitted.
o Jewelry is limited to a wedding or simple non-jeweled band (one ring per hand).
One pair (one in the entire ear) small post earrings.
o Gum chewing is not permitted in the clinical area.
o Facial and tongue jewelry are not allowed. Ear gauges or any other
facial piercings should be closed with clear plugs or matching skin tone.
o All body art/tattoos must be covered by a snuggly fit long sleeve shirt and/or
a turtleneck worn under student’s uniform top.
o Men must be clean-shaven or have short neatly trimmed facial hair.

o Undergarments should not be visible at any time.
• Clinical Expectations:
o Students are expected to be on campus between 6:30 am – 6:45 am for security
clearance, with a clinical start of 7:00 am. If a student is greater than 5
minutes late (greater than 7:05 am), this is considered late. Any unforessen
tardiness or absence must be reported immediately to the clinical instructor
prior to the beginning of clinical.
o Complete the Chamberlain Safe App COVID protocol prior to coming to campus.
o Students must park in the garage. Stay social distanced, keep your mask on at all
times, wash your hands and do not come to campus if you feel sick.
o Students cannot leave campus for lunch. Please bring your lunch.
o Students will wear mask at all times.

classroom projector and complete/discuss the video vignette questions worksheet.
