Digital Markets
• The Internet has created a digital marketplace where
millions of people worldwide exchange information directly
and free.
• The Internet reduces information asymmetry (now, all
information is available to both parties of the transaction).
Thus, digital markets are more transparent.
• Digital markets are more efficient and flexible than physical
markets: lower cost, dynamic pricing (prices can change
based on time or occasions), more availability, etc…
• Most of the products of the digital market cannot be
consumed directly (you purchase and wait for delivery),
while some products can be (like video, music, consultation,
etc…)
