Educaror need to consider how the brain is working to develop and implement lessons
and experiences in education. Students can retain new information during the different stages of
brain development. The next ten brain facts are crucial for educators to learn in order to create a
positive atmosphere in the classroom, to help students excel and to retain the knowledge they are
taught.
1) “What is learned and practiced while a window of opportunity is opened can
be learned masterfully” (Sousa, 2017).
This discovery is important because it shows educators that there are crucial periods
of time in which learning is not only acceptable but also highly effective. Sousa
identifies what developmentally relevant and successful abilities and thinking
processes are. Things like learning a new language, phonics, reading, and
mathematics can all be mastered if taught at the appropriate time. This provides
