TASK RISK ASSESSMENT PROCEDURE (HITRA)
01
1.0 INTRODUCTION
Task Risk assessment, prioritization, and management are the most important
integral parts of any activity that is performed at United Energy Pakistan (UEP)
premises. Hence, it is vital that the workforce at all levels of our organization
understands and manages risks to prevent accidents and harm to people, to reduce
damage to the environment and to achieve competitive performance.
Task Risk assessment is a key element of the Control of Work Procedure, Golden
Rules of Safety and UEPMS.
2.0 PURPOSE AND SCOPE
The purpose of this procedure is to provide guidelines for conducting task-based risk
assessments prior to execution of specific tasks and activities, so that tasks can be
completed safely and successfully.
This procedure shall apply to all UEP operations and to its contractors and sub-
contractors where an equivalent / alternate procedure does not exist. This procedure
shall be used to mitigate potential hazards by assessing the risks involved and
providing controls to reduce the risk to ‘as low as reasonably practicable’ or ALARP
level.
