After taking the DAACS SRL survey and obtaining my results, I generated a few goals

for myself to assist my learning abilities. As it related to my motivation towards learning, my

score was uneven around the test. One goal I had jotted down after taking that test was to go into

every class with an open mind to the topics being taught. This also includes issues that the

majority might see as uninteresting or “hard.” I set this goal with the mindset that I would be

willing and able to learn the topics given to me by the teacher. The subcategories in this overall

topic of motivation included: test anxiety, self-efficiency, mindset, and mastery orientation. After

completing this goal, I have felt my motivation for learning increase as semesters went by.

Next, I was assessed based on my metacognitive skills. I scored in the mid-range in this

category, indicating that I have grasped a few of the prime skills needed for college success.

These skills included evaluation, monitoring, and planning. For this category, my main goal was

to self-assess myself academically when it came to schoolwork and tests. I told myself that I

would try new strategies for studying and staying on top of my academics, and if the first

strategy did not work, I would move on to the next. At first, I would only read information from
