Rights of Social Workers
• The rights of social workers are rooted in these two principles:
o the fundamental dignity of a person to seek better opportunities
o the collective right of people to have a decent and dignified life
• The International Federation of Social Workers (IFSW) is a global
organization that links and connects social workers’ national
organizations.
• The Philippine Association of Social Workers, Inc. (PASWI) is responsible
for safeguarding the practice of social work in the Philippines.
Responsibilities of Social Workers
• Social workers perform multiple roles in society.
• Their responsibilities vary based on the settings of their work.
Responsibilities to the client
• self-determination
