• There has to be clear understanding of the clients’ needs and situation.
• Social workers need to maintain a professional relationship with the
client and express genuine concern.
Principle of affirming individuality
• This recognizes that each individual client is different because every
person has unique characteristics.
• The social worker considers the clients’ individual qualities and context
in formulating possible solutions to their concerns.
