The testes produce sperm cells.
The scrotum holds the testes, just outside the abdominal cavity.
Sperm cells are stored in the epididymis.
The prostate and seminal vesicles add fluid with nutrients to the sperm cells.
In an ejaculation the semen comes out through the urethra.
The production of sperm cells starts at puberty.
Hormones:
- Substances that control all kinds of processes in your body.
- Are produced by endocrine glands.
In your brain there’s the pituitary gland:
- In puberty this endocrine gland starts producing hormones.
- Under the influence of those hormones a boy or man starts producing
sperm cells in the testes.
The glans penis is very sensitive and can arouse a man sexually.
The foreskin covers the head of the penis
The erectile tissue causes an erection; the penis gets larger and stiff
