Article One
Taking care of mother nature is a sure way to ensure our planet pays back. Global
warming is the central issue discussed in this article. The year 2002 was the tipping point when
emissions released were more than nature can naturally purify. The emission of greenhouse gases
by industrial operations, agriculture, and other machine operations has led to creating a blanket
layer that traps heat. The greenhouse effect has seen a rise in temperature by one degree Celsius.
Seemingly negligible, the results are adversely noted in Greenland, the largest island globally.
Glacier deposits in the island and on oceans have experienced significant melting. Melting has
been more on glaciers on land than on the sea and ocean. The effect of melting is great as it
interferes with the hydrological balance, and sea-level rise is evident. Projections of the impacts
of continued melting of glaciers are adverse and may even lead to some landmasses
submergence. From the essay, it is evident that global warming is an issue that needs to be
curbed to secure the future. Besides, understanding global warming helps predict the rise of
seawater expected and weather trends to ensure preparations and mitigation measures. Questions
arising from the article include what immediate actions that research can take to contain global
warming. Interventions on ways to prevent global warming in the future are also questionable.
Global warming is an active field since the early 200s, and experts need more research in this
area for better understanding. In conclusion, global warming is a menace that people should stop
at all costs.
