Nurses must acquire the necessary knowledge and skills in cultural competency.” (MM;, Transcultural nursing: Its importance in nursing practice) Why did you decide to take this course? This class was a required class to take in my RN-BSN program. After reading the description of this class I can tell this class will be a good class to expand my understanding of patients. This class will teach me the appropriate way to function and help my patients. Explain what you would like to learn in the next 8 weeks. I hope to learn more knowledge of culturally appropriate communication. I want to be able to learn how to understand others culture . I want to be able to take care of my patients based on their culture. “All people deserve respect by the health care team regardless of financial status, education level, religion, gender, race, or ethnicity” (Andrews 2020). How do you hope this course will help you in your clinical? I hope this cause will show me and lead me to the most appropriate and culturally sensitive way possible. I hope to learn more positive communication to have with my patients. Why did you decide to take this course?
