The purpose of this research is to determine whether or not subcortical signs can act as
biomarkers in early specific diagnosis of Alzheimer’s disease and frontotemproal dementia and
also to initiate appropriate treatment to delay progression to disability from the diseases.

This was a pilot study. The research design used is a cross sectional study. Eight patients in age
and gender matched patients in each group were compared with normal controls.
