NR505 Week 5 - Research Literature, Design, Sampling, and Implementation
Assignment In week 5 of NR505, Advanced Research Methods, students completed the
Research Literature, Design, Sampling, and Implementation assignment. In this assignment, I
was required to research and analyze ten research-based literature references as they related to
my proposed PCIOT/PICo question. This assignment provided me the
opportunity to complete a comprehensive search of relevant literature and
reflect on the purpose of the study, methods of data collection and sampling, the results of the
study, and strengths/limitations. I enjoyed completing this assignment because it gave me the
opportunity to learn about research studies pertaining to my nursing interests and allowed me
to be critical of current studies and reflect on
potential future opportunities.
Identify and Explain
The Research Literature, Design, Sampling, and Implementation assignment allowed me
to meet several outcomes/essentials, including the NONPF competency areas Scientific
Foundation Competencies and Quality Competencies. The MSN Essential I: Background for
Practice from Science and Humanities, the MSN Essential IV: Translating and Integrating
Scholarship into Practice were also met. Additionally, the following Chamberlain Program
Outcomes were met: #1 Practice safe, high quality advanced nursing care based on concepts and
knowledge from nursing and related disciplines, #2 Construct processes for leading and
promoting quality improvement and safety in advanced nursing practice and healthcare delivery,
#4 Evaluation the design, implementation and outcomes of strategies developed to meet
healthcare needs, and #10 Collaborate interprofessionally in research, education, practice, health
policy and leadership to improve population health outcomes. This assignment allowed me to
meet these competencies by researching and analyzing nursing research studies and translating
