Abstract
Assessments are important for all educators. Assessments provide instructional data for
each student. Teachers utilize assessments in their classrooms everyday. Assessment does not
have to be given in the form of a pencil and paper. It could be as simple, as a raise of the hand.
Assessments have been at the front of many debates, in recent years. With the emphasis put on
student achievement, it has become an important topic. While many educators agree assessments
should not be given continuously, they also acknowledge the benefits. Assessments set standards
for all learners to achieve, and guide academic goals for students.
