High blood pressure
What is the cause of high blood pressure?
High blood pressure is a serious condition that results in many people dying.
Many factors can cause it, but the most common ones are stress, genetics, age,
obesity, and excessive consumption of alcohol. Several types of drugs can be
used to control high blood pressure but some of the best treatment is through
medication. In this paper, I will provide my opinion on various ways to control
blood pressure and how to maintain it.
The main causes of high blood pressure are as follows
stress can make you overreact to certain situations or make you have negative
thoughts towards something around you due to which your body makes a very
aggressive response and the person gets stressed out. This type of reaction
occurs when we feel that something is not nice. You can avoid such type of
situation by planning for your next day or planing with your friends beforehand.
Stress can also occur because of lack of sleep and poor eating habits. So, try to
plan ahead, set goals and make everything better. Excessive intake of water –
drinking more water can help you keep track of your water balance. The same
way you can reduce stress you should decrease your intake of beverages like
coffee or tea. Your diet is important in that as well because if you make food items
at home more delicious then they will probably bring no stress upon you, rather
than a stressful one! Obesity – obesity can increase the risk of hypertension. You
should know who is overweight and see if you need to take special care when
you’re doing exercise or even going to restaurants. Overweight people are said to
be more likely to die early compared to normal weight people (Tobias-Zimmerman
& Haddad et al., 2013). So, try to maintain your weight by avoiding unhealthy
foods and drinks, and trying to cut down the amount of time you spend in a
restaurant. Smoking and Alcoholism – smoking can lead to high blood pressure.
That’s why it’s important to stop. Nicotine can improve insulin resistance, so it
can weaken cell walls and lead to atherosclerosis and high levels of cholesterol.
These types of elements lead to diabetes and other medical problems
(Tobias-Zimmerman & Haddad et al., 2013). So, try to eat less fatty foods like
pasta and meat. Try to consume alcohol in moderation and quit smoking. Eating
healthy – proper nutrition can help you reduce blood pressure. Have regular
meals with fresh vegetables and fruits and limit amounts of processed foods and
sugary beverages. Regular exercising is good for lowering blood pressure. Also,
a lot of exercises that lower cholesterol and triglycerides will do the job. A
sedentary life may also lead to blood pressure control, so try to go to the gym
