, 200 LEVEL
Hi everyone, Temi here! I am currently in 300 level, studying Electrical and Electronics
Engineering.
First off congrats on making it to 200 level. I assure you that all those rumours you’ve been
hearing about 200 level (especially alpha semester) being all bloody and brutal and stuff are all
false…mostly. It is true that alpha can be quite tasking and stressful-I mean new courses, back to
backs all week, all those assignments (I see you, Dr Leramo)- but you’ll actually have to start
your semester prep early and sit tight those first six weeks. They are extremely crucial for your
adjustment in this level. As someone who barely (and I mean barely) made it through 200 alpha,
start reading and solving early ooh. Omega comes with a lot of free time and activities but trust
me it’s the same stressful exam you’ll still write. Getting your act together early is really
important. It is absolutely possible that this could be your best result, despite all the stress and
issues involved. With the help of God and your effort, 5.0 is not a farfetched dream guys!
Without further ado, the courses you’ll be taking this session are:
ALPHA: GEC 210, 211, 212, 213, 214, 215, 216, 217, 218, 219
Honestly ehn the most carried over courses in 200 level Alpha are 210, 212, 214. These courses
have…wonderful lecturers and the course content can be strenuous if you don’t start reading
early. Start praying and preparing for them ooh.
GEC210 (ENGINEERING MATHEMATICS I)
The standard math you’ve been learning since…ss1 basically. Solve questions from the textbook
K.A Stroud, it is really helpful. Exams might be objective. Might
GEC211(Fundamentals of Electrical Engineering I)
Engr Tobiloba Somefun is one of the best lectures you’ll ever meet. The course itself is not
technical if it is well explained and Mr Somefun does exactly that. He is literally a godsend.
Read your slides well and do lots of past questions. The exams are really everything you’ve seen
in tests and examples in the notes. That course is really chill if you understand the basics really
well. Topics like source transformation, Kirchhoff’s voltage and current laws, Nodal and
Thevenin analysis and so on are what you’ll be doing here.
GEC212(Engineering Graphics)
To those who’ve been running away from Technical Drawing…sorry, the road ends here.
YouTube is literarily you best option of really understanding this course. Engr Leramo is one
lecturer I know that gives assignments he ‘teaches’ in class every week. So, if you don’t
understand a drawing. better run and find an Indian on YouTube to help you. Practice all the
questions he gives as classwork and assignment. Chances are those would be your test and exam
question. Take this class really seriously…carry over is never easy nor pretty.
