LTS/CWTS2 – National Service Training Program
INTRODUCTION
Republic Act No. 9163 also known as the NSTP Act of 2001 was implemented on
March 23, 2002. Under this law, all Filipino First Year Undergraduate College Students
must undergo the NSTP Program. In this context, students and teachers are required to
adhere the Implementing Rules and Regulations of the law.
NSTP 102 is a course given during the 2nd semester of a schoolyear. It mainly
concerns on community engagement in partnership with community members,
stakeholders, or organizations. CWTS and LTS students are required to conduct civic and
literacy activities as part of the required hours of community engagement.
This module has been prepared primarily in compliance with Republic Act 9163
also known as National Service Training Program Act of 2001. The contents of this
module are based on various sources and reference materials which is aligned to the core
objectives of the Civic Welfare Training Service (CWTS) Curricular Program as
envisioned by the Commission of Higher Education (CHED) and Technical Education and
Skills Development Authority (TESDA).

, OVERVIEW
NSTP has 3 program components: Literacy Training Service (LTS), Civic Welfare
Training Service (CWTS), and Reserve Officer Training Corps (ROTC). Although Taguig
City University offers all the three (3) program components, this module is only limited to
the two NSTP program components namely, CWTS and LTS.
In this module, you will be expose to the concepts related to the application of what
you have learning during National Service Training Program I. Some of you may already
know the concepts in this module, therefore a need to bring your previous knowledge will
bear the new knowledge that you will acquire in this module. Topics include the
Community Immersion, Community Profiling and Needs-Assessment, Presentation and
Analysis of Data and Developing an Action Plan.
Remembering the important key points in this module will help you to pass the
assessment given at the end of the lesson. Kindly read the lesson in this module and do
all the given activities.
