Assignment 2 2022
Example
, Adulthood and Ageing: Assignment 2
Research indicates that social isolation and loneliness have a negative effect on successful ageing and the
wellbeing of older people. However, the range of ways that we can communicate and maintain contact
with our social ties have never been greater. Write an argumentative essay about the role of technology in
successful ageing.
Also, search two (2) recent scientific articles (published from 2015 to 2021) on the role of technology in
successful ageing. Use the information in these articles, as well as the information in the prescribed book
and recommended journal articles, in your discussion of the above aspects. Remember to cite all the
sources of information as references in your reference list (you must provide the links where your two
sourced articles can be assessed).
Important information:
Your own two articles
Search two recent (not older than 2014) scientific articles on the advantages and disadvantages of dual-
earner families. Integrate the relevant information in your discussion and cite these two articles as
references in your reference list (and, if possible, provide a link where these articles can be accessed from).
Use the following guidelines to assist your search:
• Conduct your search electronically on the Unisa Library by clicking on E-Resources. Then go to ‘A-Z list of
electronic resources. Ebsco is a handy database to use.
• You can also use Google Scholar to conduct your search.
• Keywords would be ‘successful ageing, older adulthood, technology, quality of life, social connection’.
• Set your date between 2014 and 2020.
• Try to find articles relevant to the elderly in Southern Africa.
• The articles must be published in a scientific (peer-reviewed) journal. This means that we do not want
articles published in popular magazines.
