Western Governors University C493: Leadership and Professional Image Task 2 2020 A: Professional mission statement and summary A1: Creating a professional mission statement My mission as a Registered Nurse is to make a positive difference in my co-workers, to promote health, healing and well-being of all patients in my care to the best of my ability, and treat everyone with respect and dignity. My mission is to be a competent nurse who fully engages with my co-workers to provide outstanding healthcare for our patients and advocates for them to enhance their care outcomes. I will continue with my nursing education to enhance my practice and advance my career in the company that I work in. My time and energy are focused on continuing my education and once I have completed my BSN studies, I plan to become certified in Case Management, the nursing field that I work in. A1a: How the mission will guide my nursing career Reflecting on my professional mission statement I see how it will guide me throughout my nursing career. I have never written a mission statement before. It is nice to have the direction that I want to go in my nursing journey written so I can stay on track and focused on my goals. My mission statement will also help me evaluate myself throughout my career.
