Terminating Employee-Employer Relationship

The article by Dan Van Bogaert and Arthur Gross-Schaefer called “Terminating the employee-employer relationship: Ethical and Legal Challenges", mainly talks about the doctrine that focuses on at-will employment. They primarily speak about the steps that employers can use to end an employee, and also taking into consideration what they should have done while terminating the relationship. My view of this article is both-sided because I agree with some ideas while I even disagree with some ideas too. I have many ideas with the issue of at-will employment whereby I support the idea that employees can end their job whenever they wish to, but also, I recommend the plan that employees cannot just stop the work and must face the lawsuit for that to happen. The employees should give the employers a two weeks' notice before the termination; otherwise, they should pay the employer the amount of money that he would have worked for, for the time. The employee is now able to vacate the premises after those two weeks if both the employer and employee agree that that decision is at the best interest of both the parties involved.
