For the following explanatory research question: What is the effect of proactive
personality on job crafting? You will set up a cross-sectional research design:
1) Explain what a cross-sectional research design is and discuss a plus and a con of this
design. a cross-sectional research design is a research in which researchers obtain data from
a range of different test persons at the same time.
Plus: The research can achieve higher levels of external validity.
Con: It is impossible to distinguish a difference of the variables due to measurement at a later
point in time (Lee & Lings, 2008).
